How/Where did They Live
The Comanche Indians were nomadic. They lived near the rivers of Cimarron river, the Pecos river, the Brazos river, and the Red river. They didn't use the water in these river because the waters were to dirty but, they used the clear streams that went in to thoses rivers. Theses streams support the trees which the Comanches used to build houses. |
Things They ate
The Comanche indians were gathers/hunters. The men were hunters. For the meat were buffalo, bison, elk, black bear, pronghorn antelope, and deer. The women prepared the food and cooked it. |
Customs
The Comanche indian men wore deer skin shirts, leggings, and moccasins. The women of the tribe wore a one piece deerskin dress, knee high boots, and beads. The children wore deerskin "pouches", rarely wear shirts, and the shoe that they wore were moccasins. |
Fun Facts
The Comanches used to be in the tribe called the Shoshone tribe but, they spilt up. The men and women decorated their leggings with ruffles. The men wore two braids in there hair and women wore their hair in two thick braids. The tribe used bow and arrows, spears, and knives. |
